On the basis of the first few lines of the chapter, one can tell that this story will follow a traditional format of a Roman tale. Once you learn that she is being whorshipped like a god, one can already assume that the Gods will intervene because of there jealousy. When Venus it is involved, you can tell that the girl will siffer for a mistake that was not her fault. It is a traditional Roman structure where the Gods Jealusy causes them to intervene in mortal affairs.
